The Family Of Ex-NFL Pro Glenn Foster Jr. Sues After Second Autopsy Notes Strangulation Despite State Autopsy Claiming He Died Of Natural Causes In Police Care

The family of Ex-NFL player Glenn Foster Jr. is now suing the agency that arrested him, ultimately leading to his death.

As People reports, Foster was arrested on December 3rd, 2021, for speeding and eluding in Pickens County, Alabama. During the encounter, officers violently slammed Foster’s head onto the concrete. When paramedics arrived, they pleaded with authorities to conduct “a full medical examination or mental health and wellness check of Foster.” However, the Pickens County Sheriff’s officers transported him to jail. Upon learning of his arrest, Foster’s family asked that the former football player be transferred to a psychiatric ward for an evaluation, especially considering a previous bipolar diagnosis.

The original plan was for Foster to be released for mental health care, but after an alleged altercation with another inmate, he was held on new charges. According to the wrongful death lawsuit filed in an Alabama federal court, he was strapped to a chair, tased while being restrained, and placed in a headlock until he passed out. By the time he was finally transported to a psychiatric unit, the situation had become more dire. The family claims that on the way to the evaluation, he was violently pulled by his neck and pushed. Foster was foaming at the mouth and nostrils when he reached his destination. He was also slumped over with bruises on him. He died on December 6th, 2021, at the North Port Medical Center in Northport.

The family is seeking damages for several claims, such as the use of excessive force, negligent training, and civil rights violations, alleging that these circumstances led to Foster’s death. A state autopsy declared the former New Orleans Saints player died of natural causes, though an independent autopsy noted signs of strangulation.

Drake Announces Plans To Revitalize Abandoned Amusement Park

Drake has plans to revitalize an abandoned theme park that has rides designed by big artists such as Salvador Dali, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The pieces have laid low in storage for 25 years, basically forgotten until now.

The Canadian native says he will open his own theme park in LA this winter, including a long-lost collection of rides designed by artists like Dali, Haring, and Basquiat, Complete Mysic Update reported.

The rapper’s entertainment company DreamCrew bought the collection – known as Luna Luna – last year for reportedly $100 million.

The park was originally featured in Hamburg, Germany in 1987 at the hands of Austrian artist André Heller. It was intended to make an appearance in San Deigo but somehow ended up in a storage unit in Texas before it caught Drake and his team’s attention.

“When Luna Luna first caught our attention, we knew we needed to be a driving force behind its resurrection”, says DreamCrew’s Anthony Gonzales.

“Not only was this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rediscover a lost history and share the story with the world, but also gave us the ability to work with the most talented partners recreating the original vision, which still held so much untapped potential”.

An opening date hasn’t been released but it’s expected to happen within the next few weeks.

NLE Choppa Takes Plea Deal, Gets One Year Probation for Drug and Gun Charges

Rapper NLE Choppa struck a plea deal in a triple felony case in Broward County, FL. The rapper was sentenced to one-year probation.

According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, Choppa, f/k/a Bryson Lashun Potts changed his plea from not guilty to nolo contendere [no contest] on Friday.

Judge Barbara Duffy sentenced him to one year of probation that requires him to forfeit all of his firearms, complete a firearm safety training course, and perform 40 hours of community service before his probation is up.

However, he won’t be restricted from traveling nationally or internationally.

In early 2018, the Memphis native was arrested on burglary, drugs, and weapon charges. He was later hit with charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of cannabis of 20 grams or less, and possession of the generic version of Xanax called Alprazolam.

Choppa was charged with three felony charges and one misdemeanor. The two felony charges were dismissed in exchange for his plea.

Blac Chyna To Receive Joint Physical & Legal Custody, No Child Support In New Agreement With Tyga

Blac Chyna has finally settled her custody battle with her ex-boyfriend, Tyga.

The two were at odds primarily over the parental schedule of their son, King Cairo. Chyna previously argued that Tyga was not being transparent about several matters regarding their son and wanted a judge to put their previously set schedule in place. She claimed they’d established an informal agreement after she gave birth to her daughter, Dream, with Rob Kardashian. However, given the lack of transparency on Tyga’s part, Chyna sought the court to validate their arrangement.

Under the deal, both parents will have joint physical and legal custody, giving them equal ability to make decisions regarding Cairo’s healthcare and education. Chyna will keep him from Friday to Monday, with the “Rack City” star having Cairo the remaining days of the week.

Additionally, neither parent is allowed to speak negatively about the other in front of the child and must use a court-assigned program to monitor their co-parenting communications, XXL confirms. Chyna also sought child support, though she will not receive any payment with this arrangement. Over the past year, she has rebranded as Angela White and quit OnlyFans since aligning herself with Christianity. However, the former video vixen has admitted that this move has slowed down much of her cash flow, forcing her to sell some of her items to stay afloat. Chyna said neither of her children’s fathers pays child support, though both have fired back regarding the financial support they offer their children.

Hopefully, she and Tyga’s relationship can remain amicable for the sake of their son.

Lil Durk Sued For Allegedly Selling Song Rights To Two Companies

Lil Durk has been hit with a fraud lawsuit for allegedly trying to sell two separate companies the rights to the same song.

On December 6th, Exceed Talent Capital filed a federal lawsuit in Manhattan against the rapper, claiming they paid him $450,000 of a $600,000 deal for the exclusive rights to his record, “Bedtime,” in August 2022. However, in May 2023, Exceed claims Durk’s label, Alamo Records, contacted the company and revealed they were the rightful owners of the record.

Exceed claims they were unaware that Durk had already sold the rights to Sony/Alamo for $450,000 before their deal. They’d only found out about the previous agreement when Alamo issued a cease-and-desist. Per the lawsuit, Exceed says they demanded Durk return the money but were met with radio silence.

As Hip-Hop DX explains, Exceed wanted to purchase the record as part of what would have been a “fractional investment” deal. In this type of setup, ongoing royalties to the song can be sold in small portions, allowing others, including fans, to make money off the record in a stock-type marketplace. For this reason, the Securities and Exchange Commission had to issue clearance for the sale, and once it was voided, Exceed was subjected to millions in penalties.

“Exceed was compelled … to return the funds that had been invested by third parties in the Offering, further significantly damaging Exceed’s reputation and relationships with its partners and investors,” the company stated in its suit.

Exceed is seeking over $12 million in damages. Durk nor his team has publicly responded.

Mama June Asks Fans To Pray For Daughter Anna Amid Cancer Diagnosis

Mama June went on social media on Friday asking fans to pray for her family as her daughter Anna ”Chickadee” Cardwell battles with cancer.

In a video posted on Instagram, June said their world has changed over the past few weeks. June said at the moment, “Anna is still us,” but her life is in God’s hands.

She then asked for people to pray for the family as they go through “this transition.”

According to TMZ, the family is currently spending their days with Anna, who was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma — a rare cancer that begins in the kidneys and causes stomach pain, and making lasting memories before her time comes.

Mama June then thanked fans for reaching out with messages of support for her daughter, before ending it with, “We love you guys and we’ll see you soon.”

Blueface Alludes That He’s Not The Father Of Chrisean Rock Jr.

Blueface is alluding that he is not the father of Chrisean Rock’s baby.

The rapper took to Twitter early Saturday to express that a home paternity test had proven he was not the father of “this baby.” While he didn’t name anyone by name, fans quickly assumed it’s Chrisean Jr. he was referring to.

“Tell me why I snook and swab this baby dna test results came in….i am not the father smh. it’s a bitter sweat feeling cus I was coming around to it but definitely in my best interest,” he wrote.

This tweet comes mere days after Blue claimed he had to “rescue” Jr., who was being babysat inside a home with Rock’s friend, Marsh. During the entire ordeal, Blueface allegedly assaulted Marsh, Rock, and his fiance, Jaidyn Alexis, after the baby mamas went live together in a shocking turn of events. Now, after a few quiet days, Blue is back with an update.

In true Rock form, she responded by posting a video of him driving recklessly during the night he “rescued” the baby from Marsh. During the clip, Blue is heard referring to Jr. multiple times as his “son.” Nevertheless, Blue tweeted, “I can’t even pretend like im not happy as hell.”

There is a possibility that Blue could be talking about another child, especially considering that he and Rock had already performed a pre-birth paternity test, which confirmed Blue was indeed the father. Blue has not yet followed up with an explanation, so the baby in question can only be speculated.

Disney and Brittney Griner Come Together to Tell Her Story In A Scripted Series

Disney wants dibs on the Brittney Griner story.

The WNBA All-Star caught headlines when she was arrested and held in Russia in 2022, and sentenced to nine years in prison.

Now free, she has partnered and given exclusive rights to Disney to share her story via a documentary feature from ESPN Films, the development of a scripted series through ABC Signature, and an exclusive interview with ABC News anchor Robin Roberts, Variety reported.

Griner’s wife, Cherelle Griner, has also been tapped to play a part as an executive producer on the projects.

“Brittney is an exceptional athlete whose hardship and resilience are nothing short of extraordinary,” said Burke Magnus, president, of content, at ESPN, in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with her to tell the nuances of her story and feel confident that this documentary will captivate audiences everywhere.”

This isn’t the first Disney sports-related story. In 2020, the company shunned light on former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s story from the San Francisco 49ers to activism. It led to a deal with ESPN films of documentary series produced to emphasize scripted and unscripted stories that deal with race, social injustice, and the quest for equity, and work to showcase directors and producers of color.

“The last two years have been the most harrowing, transformative, and illuminating period of my life, and I am grateful to be in a place now to share my story with the world,” said Brittney Griner, in a statement. “I’m proud to partner with ESPN and Disney to share this very personal story because of its incredible potential to inspire hope around the world and their proven ability to do just that.”

“We are honored that Brittney has entrusted us to share her story of hope, faith, and determination across our platforms,” said Debra OConnell, president, networks and television business operations, Disney Entertainment.

Dates for the airing of the projects has not been released.

Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Getting A Breast Reduction After Her 2022 Met Gala Look; Says She Was Spilling Out

Nicki Minaj recently spoke with Vogue’s “Life in Looks” and disclosed what pushed her to get a breast reduction.

She recalled her chest “spilling out” at the 2022 Met Gala and that’s what led her to the decision.

That year, Nicki attended the Met Gala wearing a Burberry ensemble that featured a cleavage-enhancing top, leather pants, and a ruffled train. According to the 41-year-old emcee, the outfit “cemented” her choice to get a breast reduction.

“I did my fittings, I told them I loved this hat and I loved what the outfit was giving, but I said, ‘You guys, look, these boobs are going to be spilling out,’” she recalled saying before stepping onto the red carpet.

She also said Naomi Campbell kept “walking in and out of the room looking at me like ‘girl let’s go.'”

“I knew before we even left the room that the boobs were about to have a night of their own,” Minaj added.

In an episode of The Run-Through with Vouge, Minaj confirmed she had surgery.

“I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you’re going to — more than likely, not definitely, more than likely — look back one day and say, ‘I was fine just the way I was,’ ” Minaj said.

“And that’s what happened to me,” she said. “I could not believe even some of the photos that I didn’t love.”

Nick Cannon & Zeus Are In Hot Water For “Dark Skin VS Light Skin” Las Vegas Event

Nick Cannon and Zeus are facing some much-deserved backlash after promoting a divisive colorist event.

The comedian partnered with the streaming platform for this week’s Las Vegas event titled “Bad vs. Wild – Dark Skin vs Light Skin.” He shared the flyer on his social media platforms, which immediately angered many.  Cannon has spoken at length about colorism and self-hate within the African-American community, which is why his participation in such a blatantly divisive occasion is off-putting for many of his fans. Even a Baddies fan page criticized the flyer, writing, “A Black Network came up with this…@The_ZeusNetwork This is not a good look.”

Cannon has since deleted the post, though the damage is already done. Zeus also altered the flyer, removing the “Dark Skin vs Light Skin” line and replacing it with “Chocolate Goddesses vs. Caramel Goddesses,” which some still consider to be in poor taste.

Cannon has not issued an official statement about the internet fallout despite catching the bulk of the backlash. However, it seems that he would have seen the advertisement prior to it going public as it reads, “Nick Cannon Presents,” an indicator that the “Drumline” star was heavily involved in the project from the start. Nevertheless, it seems Cannon is hoping the backlash will die down, as he is back to posting inspirational posts and skits on his Instagram

FDA Approves Gene Therapy for Sickle Cell Disease, the first treatment to use CRISPR

On Friday, federal officials announced the approval of the first gene therapy treatment for sickle cell disease, which affects close to 100,000 people.

The advancement is good news for the thousands who have inherited blood disorder that causes terrible pain crises and early death.

A second, similar treatment is expected to get the green light before the new year, USA Today reported.

Sickle cell is the most common disease to receive approval by the government for gene therapy treatment, it comes after decades of development and years of approvals for therapy for people who have rarer conditions.

The therapy will be extremely expensive, nearly $2 million per patient, NBC News reported. It will be available only to patients 12 and older who have the most severe form of the disease for the first round.

“We really have to make sure that it is accessible,” said Dr. Rabi Hanna, a pediatric hematologist-oncologist at the Cleveland Clinic who has previously served on the advisory board for Vertex. “This could be an equalizer for people with sickle cell because many patients cannot pursue career options” because of the illness.

“It’s something families have been aware of in the early research stage and they’ve been very patiently waiting for years,” Ferdjallah said. “It’s been eagerly awaited by patients and families, but also by providers and physicians.”

Researchers are still tracking the time to declare the patients “cured” of their sickle cell disease, but after gene therapy, 95% of recipients are symptom-free.

2 Chainz In Stable Condition After Suspected Drunk Driver Struck Him In Miami

2 Chainz has been involved in a serious car accident in Miami during the busy Art Basel weekend.

In the early morning Saturday hours, the “It’s A Vibe” rapper was behind the wheel when his vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver on I-95 as he was about to exit. The unidentified driver was traveling in a Tesla when it slammed into the back of Chainz’s car. The black Tesla had extensive damage to its front.

The Atlanta star was rushed to a nearby hospital. TMZ reports he suffered neck injuries and likely other wounds that have not yet been announced. However, Chainz is reportedly in stable condition.

Art Basel weekend attracts thousands of visitors, including celebrities, each year, with countless events occurring throughout the city. Hours before the wreck, Chainz shared a clip on his Instagram of himself inside The Licking in Miami. He also posted a video from inside the ambulance that gave a glimpse of the mangled Tesla. Though an unsettling scene, the video was an indicator that Chainz was okay considering the circumstances.

As for the driver, it’s unknown the extent of their injuries, but judging by their car, it’s likely they were severely hurt.

Spoiler Alert: Winner of the “Squid Game: The Challenge” Says She Still Hasn’t Received $4.5M Prize

The winner of “Squid Game: The Challenge” says the cash prize hasn’t arrived and is waiting for the millions of dollars, despite winning ten months ago.

Mai Whelan, 55, spoke with the Times and said, “I feel like Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Show me the money!” as she confirmed she still hadn’t received the money.

Whelan, who escaped Vietnam as a young girl during the communist regime, doesn’t know why she hasn’t received the $4,560,000. It’s possible that Netflix was waiting for the finale episode to air, which was Wednesday.

Some fans wondered if Whelan would share any of the prize with her fellow contestants, but evidently, the contract prohibits her from doing so, TMZ reported.

Mai told the Times although she hasn’t received the check, she has treated herself to a new haircut, Jimmy Choo shoes, and a Ralph Lauren dress.

Mai says she plans to buy a retirement home and donate to issues she cares about when she finally gets the cash prize.

Dave Chappelle & Netflix Dropping New Stand Up On New Year’s Eve, Three Years After Controversial Comedy Special [Video]

Dave Chappelle is ending 2023 on a good foot with a new Netflix special.

This week, the streaming giant released the trailer for the new standup, which will debut on December 31st. The company is putting big bucks behind the project, with legendary actor Morgan Freeman acting as the announcer in the trailer, declaring, “He’s back, folks.”

This latest flick will serve as Chappelle’s sixth on Netflix. It also arrives three years after “The Closer” was released, which drew widespread criticism. In the special, he made jokes and comments about the LGBTQ+ community, particularly transgender individuals. Some criticized the jokes for being insensitive and perpetuating harmful stereotypes. The drama led to a brief Netflix walkout as employees protested the film. Two transgender employees even sued the company for alleged retaliation against them after they spoke out against the comedian.

However, his fans rallied around Chappelle during the fallout from “The Closer,” arguing that he should be allowed to exercise his free speech within the comedy realm. Even Netflix stood by Chappelle despite the staff’s outrage and threats of customers leaving. Nevertheless, he doubled down on his performance, and now viewers should prepare for similar quips this time around.

Some of the comments on the Netflix announcement have expressed concerns over what Chappelle has in store. We’ll just have to wait and see what the funny man delivers on New Year’s Eve.

Florida Woman Accused Of Setting Tinder Date On Fire

Florida authorities have charged a Miami woman with attempted murder charge after she allegedly set her Tinder date on fire.

Destiny Lenai Johnson, 25, was arrested last month and charged with three felonies, including attempted murder, first-degree arson, and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, according to Miami-Dade County records.

She was arrested on Nov. 25 after she allegedly became irate with her Tinder date and set him and his car on fire outside a Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel in Kendall, Florida.

Authorities say the two arranged to meet up at the hotel, and that’s when she allegedly approached his car carrying what’s believed to have been a one-gallon jug of liquid. She asked the alleged victim for money to fix her car and then allegedly began yelling, “You guys are out to get me,” before pouring the gasoline into the passenger side of his SUV and lighting the inside of the car on fire with a lighter, the arrest report claims.

She reportedly fled the scene. The victim went inside the hotel for help and was transported to a nearby hospital. Johnson was reportedly found naked and talking about having blown up a car hours later, according to WSVN.

She was taken to a local hospital and treated for her burns.

She has since pled not guilty and was denied bond. She is currently still being held in custody at the Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
