Pooh Shiesty’s powerful legal team just took a hit, as one of hip-hop’s most notable lawyers just withdrew from the case. Attorney Bradford Cohen announced he is stepping away from the Memphis rapper’s defense, delivering the update in a video posted to social media while insisting the move should not be viewed as a sign of trouble for his client.

“Quick update on the Pooh Shiesty case… I will be withdrawing from the case,” Cohen said. “No implications for withdrawing from the case, I still think he has a great case. I think there are a lot of holes in it. I think the government has a lot of explaining to do on the case.”
Even while exiting, Cohen made it clear he believes the defense still has a real shot. He also revealed that two replacement attorneys are stepping in, and he sounded confident they can handle what has quickly become one of rap’s most watched legal battles.
“I think it’s one of those cases where, once you start really screwing down on the information and the facts, I think a lot is going to be coming out that will be beneficial to the defense. I think they’re going to do a great job, and I look forward to seeing how the case winds up,” he concluded.
Authorities arrested Pooh Shiesty earlier this month alongside his father and several alleged co-conspirators. Prosecutors claim the group carried out a “coordinated takeover” at a Dallas music studio. Investigators say the goal was to pressure Gucci Mane into releasing Shiesty from his deal with 1017 Records.
Shiesty remains behind bars after a judge denied bond following his arrest.
Meanwhile, the fallout has spilled into the public. Gucci Mane recently returned to the stage during a UFL halftime performance where some fans were heard yelling “rat” in viral clips online. Wack 100 also stirred conversation this week after claiming Shiesty’s father could eventually cooperate with authorities.
For now, the case keeps getting louder, even inside the courtroom.
