Dame Dash thought 50 Cent would never take it there, and 50 clearly feels otherwise.
While appearing on the “POV Podcast,” Dame Dash spoke at length about “The Reckoning,” the documentary tied to allegations surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs and executive produced by 50 Cent. Dame said he genuinely believed 50 would not put the project out, explaining that from his perspective, doing so crossed an ethical line rooted in how he was raised and how he moves as a Black man from the streets.
Dame explained that he does not believe in publicly tearing down another Black man, especially on platforms that are not Black owned. He said that even when allegations are serious, it is not his place to profit off exposing someone from the culture. According to Dame, if a situation involved real violations, that is something to be handled directly, not packaged into a documentary for mass consumption.
He also questioned the accuracy of parts of the documentary, suggesting some of the claims felt like hearsay. Dame noted that he has personally been accused of things he says he never did, adding that there is an ongoing climate where Black men with money are constantly targeted. He went as far as saying that being broke sometimes feels like the safest position because there is nothing to take and nothing to hunt.
When asked about Diddy personally, Dame said he sees someone who needs help and described him as a man shaped by unresolved pain dating back to his youth. He made it clear that acknowledging damage does not excuse harmful behavior, but he chooses not to publicly condemn him for profit.
Those comments quickly made their way back to 50 Cent.
Shortly after clips from the interview circulated, 50 reposted a segment of the podcast and responded bluntly in the caption.
“It’s best to be broke Nah I don’t like it, I don’t like him. Get his broke a** out of here. LOL he popped and panicking!” he wrote, tagging his cognac brand in the post. The response made it clear that 50 was not interested in Dame’s moral critique or his framing of the situation.
