Adidas is sparking nostalgia with the release of the limited edition jerseys featured in The Mighty Ducks.
The classic feel-good sports flick turned 30 in October, with fans still expressing their love and adoration for the movie. The #MightDucks hashtag on Instagram contains over 150,000 posts, filled with fans showing off their gear and dressing up in the famed jerseys from the film. While Disney carries imitation sportswear from the movie, they have partnered with Adidas to re-release the green, purple and yellow memorabilia.Â
This collaboration will also pay homage to the team’s fictional rival, the Hawks, with a black, white, and blue hockey shirt. Even better, Adidas is pairing its popular UltraBOOST 1.0 DNA sneaker with the jerseys, wrapping them with the colors in this exclusive line.Â
Released in 1992, The Mighty Ducks tells the story of an arrogant lawyer who must coach an underprivileged hockey team during his community service hours. While not an ideal gig, the attorney, Gordon Bombay, played by Emilio Estevez, grows to love the kids and helps them defeat their private school opponents. The movie was an instant success, spawning two sequels and an animated television show.
“The Mighty Ducks” collection will be available on November 15th. So far, the Adidas website is the only option for purchasing this exclusive drip.Â
