A Canadian father and mother of his 7-year-old daughter are at the center of a COVID–19 vaccine dispute after he ran off with their daughter to keep her from getting inoculated, the girl’s mother says.
The girl’s mother, Mariecar Jackson, has secured two court orders demanding that her daughter, Sarah Jackson, be returned to her care. But Canadian authorities haven’t been able to track down her ex-husband Michael Jackson to enforce the orders and get the child back.
Jackson’s lawyer Jill Drennan told CBC News that a police visit to her ex-husband’s home in Carievale only confirmed that the two were not there.
“We don’t believe they are in the community anymore. She could be out of province,” Drennan said.
While the frantic search for Jackson and his daughter continues, he appeared on a right-wing talk show called Live With Laura Lynn along with the little girl.
Jackson, who wore a black beanie with dark sunglasses as a flimsy disguise, told the host he was not sure if police were actively seeking him. He told Lynn he’d received “mixed messages” about whether or not there was a warrant for his arrest.
“I’m sure by now…We’ve been gone almost a month; I’m sure there’s a warrant of some kind,” Jackson admitted in the Jan. 7 interview posted on the conservative-friendly video platform Rumble.
Jackson said he is on a mission from God, explaining, “I want everybody to see that Sarah’s healthy, she’s happy,” he said during his appearance on the online talk show. He also explained that he decided to flee with his daughter because “they” were “coming for our children.”
