Diddy is officially challenging his federal prison sentence. On Monday, his attorneys filed a notice of appeal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The case will now head to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
This legal move comes after Diddy was sentenced earlier this month to 50 months in federal prison. The sentencing, handed down by Judge Arun Subramanian on October 3rd, followed his July 2025 conviction on two federal charges related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
The court found Diddy guilty of arranging for escorts to travel between states for paid sexual services. However, he was acquitted on more serious allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking, which were also part of the federal indictment.
In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a $500,000 fine and ordered five years of supervised release once Diddy completes his sentence.
By filing the appeal, Diddy’s legal team is seeking to overturn both the conviction and the sentence. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will review the arguments to determine whether any legal errors were made during the trial or sentencing phases.
