The city of Yonkers, NY, could soon have a statue or a street named in honor of DMX and is inviting the late rapper’s family to hold his memorial service there if they so choose.
According to TMZ, DMX’s family has already begun the process of planning a private and public memorial to celebrate X’s life and impact.
A meeting is reportedly scheduled for Monday to work on finalizing possible plans for the send-off.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano told TMZ he’s in favor of DMX’s family holding the memorial service at Yonkers Raceway, which is the city’s largest outdoor venue and wants to help make the memorial happen.
Mayor Spano said the city of Yonkers wants to do whatever it can to ease the burden on X’s family and said they are more than welcome to use the horse racing facility’s grounds if they want to do so.
