If you needed any additional evidence to know that the current Commander-In-Chief is an incompetent bigot, alas, the orange complexioned calamity has outdone himself yet again.
President Donald Trump honored one of America’s most profound racists and Trump supporters, Rush Limbaugh, with the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday night during his State of the Union address. The John F. Kennedy established honor has been awarded to many of the country’s most astonishing writers, artists, entertainers, journalists, and humanitarians since its establishment in 1963. Past recipients include Toni Morrison, Ansel Adams, and Edward R. Murrow.
However, Limbaugh has built his decades-long radio career around praising the right-wing, xenophobia, and blatant racism, that has attracted millions of listeners who share the same hateful views. The 69-year-old, who was recently diagnosed with late-stage cancer, typically spews his despicable rhetoric towards African Americans, Asian Americans, women, people with disabilities, and pretty much anyone who he deems less than, only giving acclamation to white males, who are prominent and heterosexual.
Trump thanked the outspoken conservative for his many contributions, such as his books and political commentary.
“And Rush, in recognition of all you have done for our nation, the millions of people today that you speak to and that you inspire, and all of the incredible work you have done for charity, I am proud to announce tonight he will be receiving our country’s highest — you will be receiving our country’s highest civilian honor, the presidential medal of freedom.”
In 2016, Limbaugh said that Obama being black “amplified malcontent operations like Black Lives Matter. It gave rise to a thugocracy, and nobody had the guts to speak out against it for fear of what would happen to them.”
Limbaugh expressed his gratitude for receiving the honor in an interview with TMZ.
“How do I feel about getting the medal? I’m in a state of disbelief. I’m honored as I can be by it.”
