Druski’s Mega Church Skit Has the Internet Divided [Video]

The Druski mega church skit has officially turned the timeline into a debate stage. The comedian dropped a new sketch that puts a spotlight on modern mega church culture, complete with flashy production, dramatic preaching, and a pastor more focused on money than ministry. In the skit, Druski plays an over the top pastor floating above a packed congregation, rocking luxury designer fits, calling for millions in offerings, and treating faith like a high budget production.

The jokes escalate fast. He flexes expensive shoes, cracks jokes about “Christian” designer brands, and makes it clear that blessings are tied to who gave and who did not. At one point, prayer is denied because a congregant did not tithe enough. The message was loud even under the humor.

Druski mega church skit reactions online have been split down the middle. On one side, people are calling the skit painfully accurate. Many viewers say it reflects what they have personally witnessed in some churches where the focus feels more like fundraising and image than spiritual care. For those folks, the skit felt less like an attack on faith and more like a critique of leadership and performance culture.Others were not laughing at all. Some Christians felt the sketch was disrespectful and unnecessary, saying faith should not be used as a punchline. A number of viewers said they were disappointed, unfollowed Druski, or felt he crossed a boundary by parodying church spaces that hold deep meaning for people.

There is also a large group sitting in the uncomfortable middle. They admit the skit was funny, but also unsettling because it hit too close to home. The laughter came with a pause, especially for people who grew up in church and recognize the behaviors being exaggerated.Druski has built his career on turning everyday experiences into exaggerated comedy, and this skit followed that same formula. The difference is that religion, especially within Black communities, is deeply personal. When comedy touches faith, reactions are never going to be neutral.

I was raised in a Southern Black Baptist Church from infancy. Maybe a 200 congregation attendance. My God was my grandmother’s s God, my parents God, now mine. I moved to NYC in 1980. I started attending First Corinthians Baptist in Harlem. Congregation maybe 2000. Pastor Michael Waldrond is the messenger chosen by God to deliver his word to me. Living in the largest city in the country, it’s imperative for me to physically attend my church as much as possible. I need that. Pastor Mike dresses humbly. Sometimes sweatshirts, jeans and sneakers. I’ve never seen flashes of gold or diamonds glistening from his person. The outreach of programs from the church are phenomenal. Breast Cancer, Prostate testing van’s outside of the edifice. Coat drives, AID’s Walk, The Hope Center ( focusing on mental health) to name a few. I’m raving about my church because all churches aren’t like the ones Drudski is portraying. Yes my church is not Mega, but its message and purpose is. Drudski is comedy but my church don’t play. FCBC ain’t no joke and I believe God is smiling with pleasure!

I completely agree with you Stanley! I attend a church in Southeast Georgia. All my life I’ve observed the pastor giving out more money than taking for himself and his family. He doesn’t have a Savings account. He could have but he gives too much in order to collect anything to save for himself.

He started pastoring that congregation when he was around 30 years old and is now 70. I’ve watched so many people take and take and take and take. Now all of those people that have taken are gone. Guess what though? He’s still has the goal of spreading the gospel and helping people; helping couples, helping single parents, helping youth, helping college students.

So when it comes to those mega churches, they are the way they are because the congregants pour into that. They would rather be at the big and the shiny than at the humble little place by the side of the road that actually cares about them, their family and their soul.
