Elon Musk clarified on Monday evening that he is not spending $45 million a month to elect former President Donald Trump, despite creating a new super political action committee (PAC) to support the Republican candidate. During an interview with conservative commentator Jordan Peterson on Musk’s platform, X, Musk addressed the rumors.
Peterson asked Musk if he had “shocked” himself by donating a large sum to Trump’s campaign. Musk, who has previously criticized Trump, corrected the misinformation.
“What’s been reported in the media is simply not true,” Musk said. “I am not donating $45 million a month to Trump.”
Musk confirmed that he created a super PAC, named America PAC, to support Trump.
The Austin-based America PAC, according to Musk, “is not supposed to be a hyperpartisan organization.” Musk stated that while he does not subscribe to the MAGA movement, his principles align with “MAG” – Make America Greater.
“I don’t prescribe to [a] cult of personality,” Musk said.
