Joe Biden has reached a major health milestone after finishing radiation therapy for prostate cancer. His daughter, Ashley Biden, shared a heartfelt video on social media of the former president ringing the bell at Penn Medicine, marking the end of his treatment.

“Rung the Bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!” she captioned the video. In another post, she added, “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.”
The 82-year-old was diagnosed in May with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, categorized by a Gleason score of 9 and signs of bone metastasis. Doctors labeled the disease as hormone-sensitive, which opened the door for combined radiation and hormone therapy.
A Biden spokesperson confirmed that he’s “doing well” following the weeks-long treatment. However, it remains unclear whether further therapy will be necessary.
Earlier this month, Biden acknowledged the outpouring of support, writing, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places,” alongside a photo of him, Jill, and their cat Willow.
According to NBC News, the treatment was initially expected to last five weeks.
Despite the health scare, Biden has remained active, and his family says his spirit never wavered.
