Rapper Soulja Boy will fork over a hefty amount following a judge’s ruling in his assault and kidnapping case.
Soulja Boy’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Meyers accused him of assaulting and kidnapping her in 2019.
Last week, a Los Angeles jury reached a verdict in the civil case, Radar Online reported. The jury awarded her $1,800 for “mental health expenses” and another $234,100 for “physical and mental pain and suffering,”
They also determined the rapper had engaged in “malice, oppression or fraud.”
The victim presented evidence that included pictures of her injuries–three fractured ribs–and text and DM exchanges between her and Soulja Boy.
Criminal charges were never filed against Soulja Boy, but authorities later discovered weapons in his home, violating his probation, Hip Hop DX reported.
The “Turn My Swag On” artist denied assaulting Meyers and blamed her injuries on a third party.
Meyers was allegedly injured during a party at the artist’s Malibu home. A lawsuit was filed against Soulja Boy, who formally goes by DeAndre Cortez Way, and his assistant Tevin Anderson for sexual battery.
Myers claims the incident happened when she was trying to leave, an argument ensued between her and one of Soulja’s assistants, and she was assaulted and kidnapped for six hours.
She also claims she was knocked to the ground and kicked in the stomach and accuses her ex of holding a “large” gun to her head. He then told another assistant to tie and shower her to clean her up from the beating she had received.
She claims Anderson offered to let her go, but only if she performed oral sex on him, which she did.
She said Soulja Boy eventually let her go, saying, “Now get this b**** outta here before I knock her down the stairs.”
