Law & Order: Organized Crime, the newest edition to the Law & Order franchise, has been pulled from production following a positive COVID test.
According to Deadline, an individual tested positive in Zone A — the zone in which on-screen talent is usually present.
In alliance with the guidelines set by state and county and the NBCU Production Playbook, the network conducted “immediate contact tracing” and asked those who had close contact to self-quarantine.
When production will resume is unclear, but the April 1 premiere deadline is not expected to be affected.
In the new series, Christopher Meloni is returning as Elliott Stabler, who rejoins the NYPD after dealing with a tragic personal loss.
The crossover premiere episode will reunite Stabler with his old-time partner, Olivia Benson.
The episode “marks the reunion of Meloni’s Stabler with Mariska Hargitay’s now-Captain Benson after they starred together on the first 12 seasons of SVU from 1999-2011.”
Meloni announced his reprisal of the role in March.
He left the series originally in 2011 due to contract discrepancies.
