A 6-year-old girl was found dead Friday night in Indiana. A 14-year-old suspect has been arrested for her murder.
Around 6:30 pm, the girl was reported missing from the Chapman St. area in New Carlisle, Indiana.
According to the press release from St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit’s Assistant Commander Dave Wells, she was found dead two hours later.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday. Names and additional details have been withheld, Wells added.
Neighbors who live in the complex near the woods where the young girl was discovered called the killing “disturbing.”
“Very disturbing, very scary, nowadays with things going on you don’t know what’s going to happen. It can happen anywhere, at any time,” neighbor Allie Sadler told CNN affiliate WBND. “I think it’s been very suddenly quiet around here.”
