New Music Friday has once again come around, and while it may be quiet compared to weeks prior, there are still several solid releases that deserve attention.
JT is back with her brand-new pop-infused single. Inspired by the raunchy ’90s phenomenon, “Girls Gone Wild” isn’t a totally new sound for the Miami star. Having previously experimented with the genre, most recently on PinkPantheress’ “Noises,” JT appears comfortable over this fun beat as she continues her exploration of a new sound. In recent months, JT has been positioning herself in the alternative music lane, with “Girls Gone Wild” likely starting a new era for this City Girl.
On the heels of the wildly successful “Folded,” Kehlani has introduced her next single, “Out the Window.” Finding herself once again in love, the songstress pleads with a lover not to give up on their relationship despite her past shortcomings. While no album has been announced, it’s apparent that Kehlani is not slowing down anytime soon.
G Herbo returns with his highly anticipated latest album, “Lil Herb.” Fans have rallied for the project since the surprise success of his viral hit, “Went Legit,” which appears on the album as the outro. The Chicago rapper keeps his features to a minimum, bringing along Wyclef Jean, Jeremih, Turbo the Great, and Anderson .Paak. This 15-track album follows April’s “Greatest Rapper Alive,” which was met with praise from his loyal supporters. Closing out the year with “Lil Herb” is another indicator of Herbo’s undeniable run.
As we enter the weekend, these tunes and several others are setting the tone. Scroll below to discover more from this New Music Friday, including a brand new album from Houston legend, Bun B.
