New Music Friday rolls around this week with plenty of new heat, starting with Florida star Rod Wave.
The megastar has just dropped a new single titled “Feed the Streets.” The soulful track blends Rod’s signature melodic flow with reflections on hustle and life outside the spotlight. Days ago, he revealed to fans that a new album and tour were in the works. While we wait, Rod has delivered another banger, with early reviews praising his authenticity.
J. Cole surprised fans ahead of his “The Fall Off” album. As the country battled a wave of cold weather, Cole unveiled “Birthday Blizzard ’26” to mark the occasion, as well as his 41st birthday. The five-track EP, hosted by mixtape legend DJ Clue, dropped exclusively on J. Cole’s website on January 27. Making the moment even more iconic for fans, he rolled out a pay-what-you-want structure with a minimum $1 payment, ensuring supporters of all economic backgrounds could enjoy the music.
Don Toliver’s “Octane” is officially out today, serving as his fifth studio album. The crooner teased the project back in 2025 during his Costa Mesa performance, then kept the momentum going with singles like “Tiramisu” and “ATM,” both of which appear on the album. The full “Octane” features 18 tracks and sees Toliver continuing his lane of lush melodies and hard-hitting rhythmic flows.
