Megan Thee Stallion released a remix to her hit “Savage,” featuring the Queen B, and the song sent social media into a frenzy.
Beyoncé gave nods to Tik Tok and Only Fans and sent Twitter into overdrive with her co-sign of the popular apps with lyrics. “Hips TikTok when I dance/On that Demon Time, she might start an OnlyFans,” she rapped, referring to the app that allows content creators to set up a subscription price for access to exclusive content.
According to Rolling Stone, OnlyFans is a subscription-based service that was started in 2016. The platform is popular for its often explicit content, and the company was happy to get a co-sign from Queen B, herself.
In a statement provided to Rolling Stone, a representative for the service said, “Beyoncé, and any artist, are welcome to join OnlyFans at any time to foster a deeper connection with their fans.”
A report featured in The NY Times claimed that since the COVID-19 outbreak hit, OnlyFans has received over 3.7 million new registrations from both content creators and fans, which works out to be a 75% increase in sign-ups.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can definitely expect those numbers to increase now that Beyoncé’s given them free promotion.
