If you haven’t been living under a rock, surely you may have heard rumors about the Migos possibly breaking up. Some may have jumped to conclusions, but Quavo is putting those rumors to rest, labeling this new time in the group’s life as an ultimate rebrand.
Quavo was featured on the cover of GQ Hype where he addressed some rumors surrounding the Migos.
“It was all about Migos, Migos, Migos. The three of us,” he said. “I feel like every group member has to establish themselves. Their own body of work. If not, you start losing members.”
Once the Migos pulled out the Governor’s Ball on top of Quavo and Takeoff releasing a duo project together, the rumors just got even crazier, fueling a possible breakup.
The rapper referred to himself as a “quarterback” that needs to make moves.
“I’m a quarterback in life,” he said. “But now that I want it, I’m just going to show you.”
The infamous elevator video featuring the rapper and then-girlfriend Saweetie was also addressed in the interview. Though Quavo was very hush-hush about the video and has remained since, he did put to rest any rumors of possible domestic violence.
He said he “never once in a million years want to do any harm to any woman.” And that he didn’t like what people thought. “I don’t like what people think,” he told the outlet. “When they saw the elevator thing, they thought it was abusive, something crazy.” That was all he said in regards to the incident.
