St. Louis Rams wide receiver, Stedman Bailey, was shot in the head twice Tuesday night, in Miami Gardens, Fl. Bailey was riding in a car with several people, including children, when the incident occurred.
Currently it has been reported that Bailey is in critical but stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery Wednesday night. The driver of the vehicle’s injuries are more serious after being shot multiple times while trying to shield bullets from hitting the children in the car. It is being reported that the children were thankfully unharmed.
Several of Bailey’s teammates took to Twitter to share the news and asking fans to keep him in their prayers. The Rams also released a statement:
“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening,” the Rams said. “We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.
Bailey was suspended four games for violating the leagues substance policy earlier this month. He was eligible to return December 7th.
Stedman Bailey is in our thoughts and prayers. We will keep you posted.
