Tiffany Haddish recently converted to Judaism, and the comedian celebrated by throwing herself a lavish, star-studded bat mitzvah.
Haddish dished all the details about studying the faith, her party, and the gifts given to her by her famous celebrity friends to Jimmy Kimmel on his show on Monday night. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Guests like Kimmel, Barbara Streisand, and Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Lawson, gave Haddish fabulous gifts.
The comedian revealed Queen Bey’s mama gave her a blinged-out gift with a Christian theme.
“Beyoncé’s mom gave me the most beautiful Bible,” Haddish shared. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Ms. Tina gave me the most beautiful Bible with this cross on it and everything, and I was like, is she trying to say, ‘Hey! You know you black, right?'” she continued.
In response, Kimmel said, “Beyoncé’s mother sent you a Bible with a crucifix on it for your bat mitzvah?”
And Haddish explained, it wasn’t any old ordinary bible. “But it had diamonds on the crucifix, though,” Haddish said. “So, I read from that and the Torah every day. I read from both. They start out the same.”
Barbara Streisand, who couldn’t make it to the party, sent the “Like A Boss” star a diamond necklace with a Jewish star on it that Haddish showed off during the interview.
According to E-News, Kimmel pointed out, “I’m embarrassed because I got you the same present, except without diamonds in it.” Haddish responded, “Yeah, you did. No diamonds. But Imma wear it! Imma wear it when I work out and go to places where I don’t want people to feel like I’m flossin’.”
