Ray J was reportedly paid $6 million to settle disputes with Kim Kardashian tied to their infamous 2007 sex tape.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the 2023 secret agreement was designed to resolve years of legal tension connected to the tape. It also included signatures from Kris Jenner and Ray J’s mother, Sonja Norwood, locking all parties into a confidential deal meant to close the chapter for good.
So the agreement did more than exchange money. It enforced a mutual release of claims and blocked everyone involved from speaking negatively about each other’s reputation or business. However, that silence didn’t hold, because Ray J later filed a lawsuit in 2025 claiming the deal was violated after the tape was discussed on Hulu’s “The Kardashians.”
That’s where things shift.
While Kardashian and Jenner have denied any role in releasing the tape and pushed back on Ray J’s claims, he has continued to stand on his version of events. So now, the focus isn’t just on old accusations, but on whether that $6 million agreement was broken.
Because in this situation, the payout didn’t end the dispute. It reopened it.
Neither Kardashian nor Jenner has spoken publicly about the settlement being made public.
