The logo wars are heating up in the restaurant world. After Cracker Barrel quietly removed its “old-timer” character from signage, MAGA supporters were quick to lash out, accusing the chain of erasing its heritage. Now Steak ’n Shake has stepped in—and they’re agreeing with the critics.
In a post on X, Steak ’n Shake called out Cracker Barrel’s leadership for “deleting personality altogether” by scrapping the classic design. The diner chain said heritage is what made Cracker Barrel what it is today and that tossing it aside is a mistake.
They doubled down by pointing to their own values. According to Steak ’n Shake, they take pride in their history, families, and American traditions. They said they welcome everyone but refuse to “market away” their past just to appeal to trends.
