In July 2015, private photos and an alleged text conversation attributed to rapper Tyga circulated online, along with the name of a woman named Mia, who was reported to be the other person in the exchange. The claims have not been independently verified.
Tyga has not issued a personal public statement. According to reports, his legal team acknowledged that the photos are of him but said he did not send them to Mia. His team also says Tyga believes his accounts were hacked.
His attorney, Lee Hutton, reportedly said the team notified the FBI on Wednesday morning. Hutton also said they had obtained the email that was sent to multiple media outlets and were tracing it in hopes of identifying who was behind the leak.
Representatives for Mia say she had nothing to do with the leak and is willing to cooperate with the FBI to find out who is responsible. Her camp has not addressed whether the text messages are authentic, according to reports.
