FBG Duck’s Mom Wins Key Ruling as Wrongful Death Case Against Lil Durk Continues

The mother of FBG Duck has cleared a major legal hurdle in her long-running fight for accountability over her son’s killing.

LaSheena Weekly announced on Instagram that a court has ruled in her favor, allowing her wrongful death lawsuit tied to FBG Duck’s 2020 murder to move forward. The case names Lil Durk and several corporate and municipal defendants.

“The Ruling is in and my son gets his day in court. The court ruled we can continue our lawsuit against Lil Durk and the record labels! Our fight continues!!” Weekly wrote.

She also praised her legal team, adding, “I want to thank My attorney Roosevelt Allen, and his team for their exceptional work on this case. Let’s Go!! #LongLiveDuck.”

Weekly first filed the lawsuit in 2024, alleging that Lil Durk and the late King Von were connected to the violence that led to her son’s death. The complaint goes beyond the artists, naming the city of Chicago, luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, multiple private security companies, and six alleged members of O Block.

According to the filing, the lawsuit argues that Durk and associated record labels were aware of ongoing tensions involving King Von and FBG Duck, and that violence and real-world beef were knowingly used to build profitable music brands.

In August 2020, FBG Duck was fatally shot outside a Dolce & Gabbana store in downtown Chicago. He was struck 16 times in a brazen daytime attack that shocked the city and intensified conversations around drill music, street conflicts, and industry accountability.

The lawsuit claims that following Duck’s death, Lil Durk, O Block, and OTF gained global visibility and financial benefit through music, streaming platforms, podcasts, and social media, stating that they “monetized the killing of FBG Duck.”

The ruling allows Weekly’s claims to be heard in court, setting the stage for a case that could test how far responsibility extends when art, profit, and real-life violence collide.
