The legal drama for Kodak Black is heating up once again. Just a week after being booked in Central Florida, the South Florida rapper was taken into custody in his hometown of Pompano Beach.
According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records from Thursday, the 28 year old rapper, is currently being held at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale.
In this latest incident, authorities have charged the rapper with attempting to flee or elude law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence. While specific details of what led to the pursuit remain limited, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, has already pushed back against the allegations.
Cohen described the situation as a coordinated effort to turn himself in following a months long investigation, questioning the timing and necessity of the new charges.
This arrest follows a very recent legal battle in Orange County. On May 6, Kodak was arrested on a felony warrant for trafficking MDMA. That case stems from a 2025 investigation where police reportedly found a pink bag containing the drug, along with $37,000 in cash, inside a luxury SUV. Kodak pleaded not guilty to those charges and was released on a $75,000 bond before this newest encounter in Broward County took place.
The back to back arrests have put a spotlight once again on the rapper’s complicated relationship with the law. Despite his musical success and consistent charity work in Pompano Beach, the cycle of legal problems continues to overshadow his professional moves.
It seems that every time he begins to rebuild his momentum, another court case or mugshot shifts the narrative away from his music and back toward his personal legal struggles.
