DoorDash Driver Allegedly Caught Pepper Spraying Customer’s Arby’s Order on Camera [Video]

What should have been a simple late-night food run turned into a full-blown nightmare after a DoorDash driver was arrested for allegedly pepper spraying a customer’s food on purpose, leaving a couple sick, scared, and questioning everything they just ate.

According to investigators in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, a couple placed a DoorDash order just after midnight earlier this month. After eating the food, the woman immediately began experiencing a burning sensation in her mouth and throat before she started choking and vomiting. Her husband also reported feeling sick, which prompted him to check their doorbell camera footage.

That’s when things got disturbing.

Video shows the driver placing the food on the porch, taking the required delivery photo, and then pulling out what authorities say appears to be a canister of pepper spray. The footage allegedly captures her spraying the bag directly before walking away.

Law enforcement identified the driver as 29-year-old Kourtney Stevenson. She was later arrested and charged with consumer product tampering and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury. Investigators say the symptoms described by the couple were consistent with pepper spray exposure.

Stevenson reportedly told police she was not trying to contaminate the food and claimed she was attempting to spray a spider she was afraid of. Authorities say that explanation does not line up with the video or the weather conditions that night.

After being located in Kentucky, Stevenson was taken into custody and is now awaiting extradition back to Indiana. DoorDash has since confirmed her account has been permanently deactivated.
