Michael Strahan, like most of America, was less than impressed with Trump’s cold fast food buffet served to the Clemson Football team, so he’s decided to do something about it.
In Tuesday’s broadcast, the ex NFL superstar personally extended a classy invitation to the entire team on Good Morning America.
“Whoever can make it, we’ll hook you up with lobster…whatever you want we’ll take care of you. We gonna give you the proper meal that you deserve because that was one great game, a great accomplishment,” Strahan said.
When his co-host asked who was going to pay for it, Strahan responded—“It’s out of my pocket guys. I’ll pay for it. No problem.”
Like the Celebrity-in-Chief, Strahan can certainly afford it. He’s accumulated more than $75 million during his respected NFL career as well as his 8 figure network deal with ABC, which he signed back in 2016.
The difference here seems to be Strahan’s idea of a meal befitting champions will look a lot more appetizing.
Trump served the Clemson Football team a fast food spread of McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and Domino’s on silver platters laid out with golden candelabras. Insiders reported that by the time the food was served it was already cold.
The celebrity-in-chief tweeted that due to the White House Kitchen staff being furloughed (because of the current government shutdown) he picked up the check out of his own pocket.
Social Media critics clowned the less than classy meal with the hashtag #whitehousedinners.
ATTENTION @ClemsonFB: @michaelstrahan has a very important announcement for you! Should we expect to see you in Times Square for lobster AND caviar soon?#QTNA #GMADay https://t.co/W1vUNMab63 pic.twitter.com/fwPlNxERyb
