After years of distance, disputes, and unanswered questions, NeNe Leakes is stepping back into the Bravo conversation.
On Tuesday, several production sources confirmed to TMZ that Leakes is set to appear on the inaugural season of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip,” a spin-off of “Ultimate Girls Trip.” The project was revealed during BravoCon by Andy Cohen, though no cast members were publicly revealed at the time.
The appearance marks Leakes’ first on screen Bravo appearance since her controversial exit from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” following Season 12 in 2020. According to the insiders, this is not a full time return. Leakes is expected to appear during the Atlanta portion of the series, making her presence limited but significant.
The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip” is described as the next evolution of the “Ultimate Girls Trip” format. The series will feature “Housewives” from across multiple franchises traveling together through cities tied to “Real Housewives” history. Rather than a fixed cast, different women will appear in different cities, with Atlanta being one of the featured stops.
Leakes’ return carries added weight due to her past legal conflict with Bravo and NBCUniversal. In April 2022, she filed a federal lawsuit alleging a racist and hostile work environment. The lawsuit was dropped in August 2022, with both sides agreeing to resolve the matter through arbitration.
For fans who watched NeNe help build the franchise from the ground up, this moment lands as a cautious but notable reunion that few expected to see happen this soon.
