O’Shea Jackson Jr. is continuing to take Hollywood by storm. In fact, the actor, known for portraying his father Ice Cube in the 2015 movie ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ has just landed the lead role in a recasting for Kevin Durant’s upcoming basketball drama ‘Swagger.’
Originally set to star in the series, was Winston Duke (Us), who unfortunately had to back out due to an injury on set, Deadline reports.
“Thank you to Imagine, CBS and Apple TV for the opportunity to have collaborated on this project,” Duke said in a statement. “As I work toward a full recovery in the coming months, I look forward to joining everyone on future endeavors. Congratulations to O’Shea – I have no doubt that he’ll shine in this role.”
‘Swagger,’ which is created by Kevin Durant and Reggie Rock Bythewood under Imagine Television Studios and CBS TV Studios, shines a light on “Durant’s youth basketball experiences.”
The show gives an inside look at “youth basketball” players as well as their families.
Jackson Jr. will play Ike, who is a youth basketball coach and “former star player” himself.
