Donald Trump is going to fly himself to Mar-a-Lago right before President-elect Joe Biden is sworn into office.
Trump’s last act of egoism will take place just hours before Biden’s inauguration, People reports. He plans on flying to his South Florida Mar-a-Lago club; this will be his last trip in an Air Force One. It’s been a long four years, and Trump is finally making his exit, which is reportedly going to consist of a “send-off” party just before he leaves.
In the last few months of his presidency, Trump has shown Americans who he truly is and has been all along. From claiming the Covid-19 pandemic is a hoax, making voter fraud claims against the 2020 Presidential Election, and most recently, inciting the violence that took place on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Capitol. A mob of Trump supporters and domestic terrorists forced themselves into the building, destroying furniture, stealing items, and vandalizing law officials’ offices. Just before the riot, Trump told his fans to “fight like Hell.” At least five people died from the raid.
Trump called his words “totally appropriate” and said the “real problem” is with the politicians who spoke about the “horrible riots” that happened last summer, he said, referring to Black Lives Matter protestors following the slayings of Black people by police. “So, if you read my speech — and many people have done it, and I’ve seen it both in the papers and in the media, on television, it’s been analyzed, and people thought that what I said was totally appropriate,” Trump said.
Instead of going along with a longstanding tradition, Trump said he will not be attending the inauguration. However, Vice President Mike Pence said he will be there. “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
In response, Biden said that Trump’s decision not to attend “is one of the few things we agree on.”
