After years of pouring his heart into fatherhood with his stepdaughter, Charlie, Waka Flocka is gearing up for his baby boy. The Atlanta rapper, born Juaquin James Malphurs, announced on social media that he is expecting a son. He shared a photo of a wooden nursery decoration, an oversized “J” engraved with Juaquin Jr., and let the image speak for itself before captioning it with the words, “Just waiting for you to come home Jr. Best gift a man could ever ask for.”

Waka Has Been A Father For Years — Just Not Biologically
Long before this announcement, Waka had already proven what kind of dad he is. During his eight-year marriage to singer and reality star Tammy Rivera, which they formalized in May 2014 and ended in divorce in October 2022, Waka stepped up as a father to her daughter Charlie, who was just four years old when he came into her life.
In 2021, Charlie asked Waka to adopt her, a moment that spoke volumes about the bond they had quietly built over more than a decade. Even after the divorce, that relationship never wavered. Waka reportedly bought Charlie her first condo outright, with no mortgage attached.
The Divorce, The Dedication, And What Came Next
The split from Tammy was confirmed in March 2022, and Waka handled it with more class than most. He described her as his best friend, saying publicly, “It’s love, though. Me and I stamped.” He later moved on with a woman his followers know as Mel. However, it’s unclear if she is the mother of his son.
